This piece was built as a way to introduce myself to woodworking and being in a wood shop, as I have only spent meaningful time in machine shops up to this point. 
It's built from 1/2" birch plywood with laser-cut pieces and a hand routed face. All parts were stained multiple times to achieve varying colors and then glued onto the face. All edges were painted to mask kerf burn. French cleats are attached to the back to secure it onto the wall.
